Frequently Asked Questions:

(An Interview with Miles Pelky)

Q: Do you use CDs, records or MP3s?

A: We use a combination of CDs and MP3s on a laptop. Other DJ companies have switched over to using all MP3s, but CDs still produce the highest quality of sound, so CDs continue to be our first choice.

Q: What do your DJs wear to an event?

A: Depending upon the style of the wedding, we have worn everything from Tommy Bahama to classic black suit.

Q: Do you DJ full time?

A: Yes, I am one of the few lucky DJs who has managed to work full time since 1991, doing what I love for a living. I am hired to DJ between one and three weddings each weekend. That is approximately 2,500 weddings to date!

Q: What do you do when you are not working?

A: My wife and two kids keep my busy! I like to sit in on the drums with various groups and friends. I enjoy surfing in the summer time, and Sunday drives with the Viper Club of San Diego.

Q: Do you have a backup system?

A: Yes, I always travel with a back-up system.

Q: Where is your favorite location to work?

A: Anywhere near the ocean is fine with me! The cottage at the Del (Hotel Del Coronado) is a very special place and is one of my favorites.

Q: Do you just play music or are you the MC as well?

A: Yes,I make all of the announcements throughout the event and keep all of the vendors informed, i.e. the banquet captain, photographer and videographer. I work to keep the evening flowing and on and closest to being on schedule.
